I get a call from a girl with a young sounding voice named Nina, who wants me to tune her parent’s piano. Warning lights immediately start flashing in my mind. “Has she asked her parents?” I wonder. “And who is going to be paying for the tuning?” I should probably qualify her about these things, but I don’t ask.
Stephen Hargreaves just released his album of piano works from the 1930's on CD and iTunes. I'm very pleased with how the tuning turned out on the recording as we worked very closely together on this, and he was kind enough to list me in the album credits.
ou can hear some excerpts on the iTunes Store website.
One of the best parts about my work is the connection I have with my customers. I have empathy for those who work in an office cubicle and have to deal with the same people day after day whether they get along with them or not. I feel lucky to have people that I work for, who are artistic, inspired, creative and interesting.
